Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey was unaware of a report that NFL Network reporter and former NFL player Heath Evans made, but when asked about it he called it comical. Evans claims the Jags locker room is in disarray because of management's unwillingness to negotiate with star running back Maurice Jones-Drew and that Mularkey is “distancing himself from his players”.
Players asked about the report sided with Mularkey's stance.
“That’s kind of hilarious, that’s just the opposite of what’s been happening,” said offensive lineman Eben Britton. “It really feels like a professional football organization from top to bottom. I’ve never been a part of a team that’s so acutely attentive to details.”
Others agreed.
“Honestly, I really believe it’s a hungry team. Everybody’s all in with what Coach Mularkey is doing,” guard Uche Nwaneri added. “There’s not one person in this locker room who feels like we don’t have a chance to win every Sunday if we do everything that’s asked of us."
It seems like Evans was just looking for a story to talk about and just made this one up to create a possible headline. If so that's a pretty low move considering he's a former player.
