This deer antler craze is growing faster than... well... a deer's antler! Whether Ray Lewis did it or not, more fingers are being pointed towards possible users of this new "fad" substance. The latest fingers are being pointed at the Alabama Crimson Tide football team.
SWATS co-owner Christopher Key came out today and said that he saw five members of the football team spray the substance, that he sold them, into their mouths.
Key went on to say that he sold the deer antler spray to about 20 players leading up to the 2012 BCS National Champioship game between the Tide and the LSU Tigers. He also said he sold about 20 more bottles to players at an appartment 10 days before the game.
One former player, defnesive lineman Quinton Dial, and two current players, sophomore linebacker Adrian Hubbard and senior linebacker Alex Watkins, were mentioned by name in regards to a sales pitch that Key gave and filmed two days before the 2012 National Championship game.
The spray contains a substance called IGF-1, which is on the NFL's list of banned substances.
