For the first time in a long time, all of the "Big 4" Philadelphia teams may miss the playoffs.
The Eagles missed the playoffs last season- things could not have gone much worse for the Eagles last year. Micahel Vick was in and out. Foles had the offense thrown on it. The team threw in the towl about halfway through the season. An incredibly talented defense underacheived like few teams have done before.
The Flyers, 76ers and Phillies may miss the playoffs this year.
Flyers- The offensive production that backed up inconsistent goaltending is not showing up lately. The Flyers are at -.3 goal differential. And again, with Ilya Bryzgalov not seeing the puck as well as he did in Phoenix, for whatever reason, that number is a bad sign.
76ers- The Andrew Bynum story tells it all.
Phillies- The Phillies are in a spot that no MLB team wants to be in. On one end, they are experiencing New York Yankee syndrome; they're just getting old. Their outfield is in a transition period. They're also missing guys like Jason Werth and Ryan Madson. It also doesn't help that the "Doc" (Roy Halladay) is losing edge. He has a 1-2 record with an ERA near 8 thus far.
