What a finish it was at the Players!

One complaint about golf is how slow it is, but the final round really leave fans on the edge. Whether they are watching on TV or on the other side of the ropes, there's nothing quite like a finish like we saw today.

Tiger Woods claims his second Players championship (2001 and 2013) and the Island Green will haunt Sergio Garcia until he comes back next year.

As for David Lingmerth, he has to feel good about his tie for 2nd. Despite a good opportunity to take 2nd by himself, and a 3-putt on 18, he will walk away from his first trip to the Players with just over $700,000.

And as for Roberto Castro, he should be proud of his top 20 finish and his $107,000. He will definitely move up in the world golf rankings.

There really is nothing like 16-18 on Sunday at the Players!

Castro is +6 for the day, dropping him down to -3 for tournament. He is still on the course.

This was the last thing I expected him to do. After the -9 yesterday, I predicted that he would shoot anywhere from +2 to -2 today. But that's something that can happen when you're in new territory like he is. Being outside the top 100 in the world, he is not used to the attention he is getting.

Sergio and Tiger are still at the top and Lefty will head home when round two is completed.

It didn't take long for Roberto Castro to lose his three stroke lead.

He left himself in a good spot when the first round concluded, but the competition is tightening up at the top.

Tiger came out the gates strong with a -2 before the turn and eagled the 2nd hole to really make Castro sweat.

With Tiger at -9, and done for the day, is Kevin Chappell and Lee Westwood. Roberto Castro is back at -9 (E) after an early birdie.



But the leader so far, with a one stroke lead, is Sergio Garcia at -11 (-7).

That has been a consistent theme today. We have seen a lot of strong 2nd rounds, with guys like Garcia, Westwood, Matt Kuchar and Marc Leishman who all shot -6 or better today.
